Rent a car in four simple steps

Review the vehicle classes that match, filtered by size, transmission, fuel, seats, mileage terms and sample rate.

Open a vehicle to read its specification, luggage capacity and the rental information that applies to that class.

Complete Your Booking
Continue with the selected provider to finish your reservation under their pricing, availability and terms.
How we fit in. American Drive Rentals helps customers discover and compare rental options. Final booking, payment and provider-specific terms are handled according to the selected provider's process.
What we do
We run a search and comparison front end. You tell us a pickup location and dates; we present rental vehicle classes so you can compare them on the details that actually change the trip — seats, luggage, transmission, fuel type and mileage terms.
What we do not do
- We do not own, lease or operate the vehicles shown on this site.
- We do not set the final rental price, taxes, airport fees or surcharges.
- We do not take rental payments or hold security deposits on this site.
- We do not issue rental agreements, insurance products or refunds.
Continuing to the provider
When you select a vehicle and continue, you move to the rental provider's own booking process. From that point, their pricing, availability, driver requirements, insurance options, cancellation policy and refund terms apply. Read them before confirming.

Know before you rent
Requirements vary by rental provider, vehicle and location. Review the selected provider's terms before booking.
Age requirements
Minimum age and young-driver surcharges are set by the provider, state and vehicle class.
Payment cards
Most providers want a card in the main driver's name; debit card rules vary.
Security deposit
A hold is usually placed at pickup and released after the vehicle is returned.
Insurance
Check what your own policy or card already covers before adding provider cover.
Additional drivers
Extra drivers must be registered on the agreement and meet the same rules.
Identification
A passport or government photo ID is commonly requested alongside the licence.
International Driving Permit
Some providers ask non-US licence holders to carry an IDP with their licence.
